7 Khoon Maaf - Music Review

‘7 Khoon Maaf’ an interesting title again from Vishal Bharadwaaj featuring as usual his own music compositions. Vishal’s music and Gulzar’s lyrics have now become like a Jodi. The trailor with the Darling track immediately excites you for both the movie and music. Darling is a nice track featuring voice of this year Padma Sri Award winner Usha Uthup. Thank god next time we see her on small screen we won’t be hearing just ‘Ramba ho ho ho’ from her. Rekha Bharadwaaj sings in duet with Usha Uthup for this. Bekaraan has a fresh water like feel with multi-talented Vishal himself lending his own voice. O’ Mama is a desi rock song with K.K.’s voice and a track that will probably grow on you during the movie experience. Dil Dil Hai is another rockfish song by ‘Give me Sunshine‘ fame Suraj Jagan but this track will be liked by those who love rock music. Awaara with interesting Gulzar lyrics is in a Sufi touch by an unknown Punjabi singer Master Saleem. Suresh Wadekar a regular feature in Vishal’s album as well like ‘Raat ke Dhai baje’ from Kaminey has sung the soulful ‘Tere Liye’. Finally a solo track as always from his wife Rekha Bharadwaaj ‘Yesu’ but it’s a boring crying type track which you won’t want in your mp3 devices.
The album looks complete with all types of tracks whether soulful, romantic, rock or peppy but it doesn’t have stand out outstanding tracks like Kaminey or Ishqiya. This album will be listened and forgotten in short span and is not a long lasting one.

Patiala House – Music Review

Patiala House, just like the first look trailer of the movie the music also looks pretty boring. Shankar Ehsaan Loy is back but sorry to say not with a bang. Their previous album “We are Family” was also average. With A.R. Rehman out of their way as he is working on international assignments they should be India’s number 1 music composers but sadly their attempts are pretty mediocre. Amit Trivedi is ruling the roost currently. Coming back to the album  Laungda Lashkara is a Punjabi number with Jassi and Hard Kaur but the output is really soft core, can be listened though. Kyun Main Jagoon is nicely sung by Shafqat Amant Ali (Fuzon and Mitwa from KANK fame) but still not soulful enough to touch you. By the time you hear Rola Pe Gaya, you feel how can anyone have Hard Kaur in any song doing just ‘Yo Man’ kinda stuff. ‘Aadat Hai Voh’ and ‘Baby When You Talk To Me’ are also forgettable tracks. ‘Tumba Tumba’ in Hans Raaj Hans voice is decent enough but won’t be placed in your MP3 devices as well. ‘Aval Allah’ has Richa Sharma rendering her voice again for SEL like in My Name Is Khan’s Sajda but a small ibaadat style track.
With not a single track having Sonu Nigam, Shaan, KK, Shreya Ghoshal or Sunidhi the output could have been easily predicted. Even Shankar sang a small portion in just one song. I am now a really disappointed Shankar Ehsaan Loy supporter.

Aali Re Taali Re – NOKJ Review

Before we start review a taali Sabrina Lal for fighting for so long and for once a taali where media stood up and needs to be applauded. We all have seen the progress in this case through print media or television, sometimes ignored it as well and sometimes angered like when Shayan Munshi (Jhankar Beats actor opp. Riya Sen) turned hostile and hence feel a part of it. The movie brings all those glimpses back to you. The movie is really well made. Apart from Rani and Vidya, the whole cast is unknown but they all have delivered. Vidya Balan has acted well. She is a convincing actor whether it’s a helpless maa in Paa or a cunning widow in Ishqiya or a pleading sister in this movie. Rani makes a comeback and looks nice, but it seems she spent more time promoting the movie than on the movie schedule. Rani went from Big Boss, to Jhalak Dikhla Jaa to Emotional Atyachar to Oye FM to News channel to Na Aana is Des Lado but to top it all CID as well. The films music is really good and blends perfectly with the movie. The movie is well made and leaves you with a feeling that even we should also be counted for whether standing up for justice or any other noble cause.

Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji - Music Review

An album by Pritam but an average attempt. Music can be listened, not that it’s awful but very less WOW factor. Beshuba & Jadugari are 2 tracks featuring Kunal Ganjawala but average. 'Yeh dil hai Nakhrewala' also a forgettable track. The best track is 'Abhi Kuch Dino Se' in Mohit Chauhan's voice which looks a bit fresh.
Tere Bin is also a decent track all because of Sonu Nigam's magical voice. For first time you won’t like this track but it grows a bit on you after a few times. So only listen to these 2 tracks from this album if you want. All in all it’s worth a miss album

Yamla Pagla Deewana - Music Review

An album with tracks from different music director. The 2 stand out tracks and for your MP3 devices are the title track and Chadha De Rang. Sau Baar is also an okish track. Anu Malik bagging 2 tracks with Tinku Jiya and Chamki Jawani and both are peppy numbers.
The album is all in punjabi flavor and mood. The rest of the tracks are also peppy but nothing worth noting about them. Kadd De Botal is in Sukhwinder Singh's voice but nothing great about that track either.
