Tanu Weds Manu - Music Review

Just like the trailor which look fresh, the music is by a fresh music director Krsna (without an ‘I’ or ‘h’ in his name). The Punjabi number ‘Saadi Gali’ is catchy and immediately likeable and is definitely a chartbuster.  The other best track of the album is ‘Yun Hi’ and what makes it special is Mohit Chauhan’s voice. It also features Sa Re Ga Ma Pa contestant Ujjaini’s voice. Listen it couple of times and it will grow on you. Rest of the album is also a decent attempt and can be listened but lack enough melody and soul and also require hearing a few times before you like it. ‘Rangrez’ in its 2 versions is also a decent rendition. ‘Piya’ a song in Roop Kumar Rathod’s voice but doesn’t sound like him but well sung anyways.  ‘Mannu Bhaiya’ is a chirpy song and probably goes in the mood of the film but not one to keep in your MP3 devices. ‘Jugni’ is normal Punjabi in Mika’s voice but not much improvisation to make it something special.
All in all a good attempt by a new music director but needs to work more on his melodies.

Rating: 3/5
